Earn Credit Studying Shakespeare at IC this Summer!Contributed by Christopher Matusiak on 04/10/14 To celebrate the 450th anniversary of Shakespeare’s birth, the Department of English invites students to delve deeply this summer into three of the playwright’s masterpieces—A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Hamlet, and The Tempest. Over the course of five weeks, students will be introduced to the plays in their original cultural and theatrical contexts. At no cost, they will also have the opportunity to attend a live performance of Hamlet by the Ithaca Shakespeare Company, experiencing firsthand the pleasures and challenges of interpreting Shakespeare in modern performance. No previous experience with Shakespeare required.
