The Ithaca College New Voices Festival Begins Wednesday, April 23!Contributed by Gretchen Hohmeyer on 04/16/14 The New Voices Literary Festival will be taking place April 23rd-25th on the Ithaca College campus, featuring seven authors specializing in a variety of topics such as fiction, nonfiction, poetry and playwriting. The festival will feature several readings, panels and a staged reading of one of the plays. The festival will feature nonfiction writers Gina Welch, (In the Land of Believers), Brendan Jay Sullivan (When Rivington Was Ours), and Nina McConigley (Cowboys and East Indians), poet Valzhyna Mort (Collected Body), fiction writers Callie Wright (Love All) and Teddy Wayne (The Love Song of Johnny Valentine), and playwright Amy Herzog (After the Revolution). It will open Wednesday, April 23rd, at 5:45 at Buffalo Street Books on N Cayuga Street with “The Short Short” Microreadings by all the authors. On Thursday and Friday there will be panels at 11 AM and 2 PM on the Ithaca College campus, followed by readings at the Handwerker Gallery.
