Want to learn more about culture, society, the big picture, and individuals? Want to do it in a fast-paced, informative May Session online course?

"Introduction to Sociology" will be offered this May, online, for three credits. The course will enable students to conveniently fulfill an element of the Power & Justice theme or the Self & Society requirement.

We'll cover key concepts such as how we learn about society (through socialization and culture), deviance and conformity, gender and sexuality, race and ethnicity, power and politics.

This short, intensive online course (9 days) will include brief reading, brief, focused assignments, regular feedback, online videos, and a virtual field trip or two. Students will be able to work from anywhere, as long as they have access to the Internet and a computer.
