Join us this Monday, April 28th at 7 p.m., when senior Morgan Agia will perform American Sign Language Poetry as part of her Department of Communication Studies honors thesis.   The performance will include different styles within Deaf poetry, including traditional forms, song, dance, and slam.

Come watch the natural expressiveness of this beautiful language translate into a manual literature form which will celebrate Deaf Culture and bring to light the oppression this cultural minority has experienced. Whether you know ASL or not, this is a great opportunity to see an often unrepresented art form that is on the rise.

The performance will take place in Iger Hall on the second floor of Whalen at 7 p.m.

Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations should contact Rebecca Sexton at rsexton@ithaca.edu or (607) 274-7352. We ask that requests for accommodations be made as soon as possible.
