Mary Tomaselli, Office of Human Resources, has announced her retirement as of June 13, 2014Contributed by Jane Ray on 06/02/14
As many of you know, Mary Tomaselli will soon be ending her time here at Ithaca College as Director of Employee and Organizational Development. Mary has helped many of us here to navigate and lead transitions effectively in our work lives, and now it is time for a transition of her own. Her presence, guidance, encouragement, and care will surely be missed. Since she began her work at Ithaca College in fall of 1997, Mary has been dedicated to enhancing the engagement and effectiveness of staff, faculty, administrators, and students. Through her organizational and leadership development, design and implementation of departmental and divisional planning retreats, and her coaching and consultation in supervision and performance management, Mary has worked with almost everyone on campus. She touched the lives of many of our students as a faculty member teaching leadership in the RLS program. We welcome you to stop by the Office of Human Resources, 3:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 12, to congratulate Mary and wish her well. (Tissues will be available.) Congratulations, Mary! Although this is a HUGE LOSS for IC, you can retire knowing you gave it your all. You have helped so many people on this campus and beyond. Thank you for your outstanding teaching for our department as well as co-authoring the textbook with me. Enjoy your leisure! You are the best.

I'm so very happy for you, Mary (and a wee bit jealous, truth be told)! I hope that retirement gives you as much joy as you have given all of us over the years. Having said that, when I read this, my eyes immediately puddled...so good that there will be tissues handy at your party next week! It's oft said, but never truer than with you...I'm having a really hard time imagining an IC without a Mary Tomaselli. You earned this time, you so deserve it, but oh man are we going to miss you. You're irreplaceable, Mary. You really are.

It's hard to imagine IC without Mary Tomaselli on campus. Mary, you've made a
huge difference in the lives of so many through the many classes of Leadership that you led, to your work with Supervisor's Academy. But it's your ever-present smile and positive, affirming style that I'll miss. You've left a deep legacy here!
