Associate Vice President Rachel Reuben Accepts Position at ColgateContributed by Eric Maguire on 06/02/14 It is with a mix of pride and regret that I announce that associate vice president for marketing communications Rachel Reuben has accepted an offer from Colgate University to serve as its vice president for communications. Reporting directly to President Jeffrey Herbst as a member of his senior leadership team, she will oversee all aspects of communications and messaging for the university. Her last day at IC will be July 3. Since joining Ithaca College in 2010, Rachel has led a rebranding effort which resulted in a new logo, a new visual identity, and a new core messaging platform. She developed the first institutional strategic marketing plan and advertising campaign, a comprehensive crisis communications plan, and a trademark and licensing program. She reorganized the Office of Marketing Communications into a more effective team dedicated to providing support and strategic advisement to the broader college community. Rachel has presented on behalf of the college at the American Marketing Association’s Symposium for the Marketing of Higher Education, among other national conferences, and her writings have been featured in the Chronicle of Higher Education, CASE Currents, and many blogs. I appreciate all the energy and hard work Rachel has put into advancing this institution, and I know I can speak for the entire Ithaca College community in wishing her all the best in her new role. I will keep the campus informed as we develop plans for ensuring the continuation of the marketing momentum that she has helped to build.
