Dr. House is expected to discuss a typology of religious rhetorics employed by Black church pastors and leaders in the battle against HIV/AIDS as they wrestle with new ways to address the presence and impact of the disease on the lives of sexual minorities living within the African Diaspora. The panel will be moderated by Rev. Paul Raushenbush, Executive Religion Editor for the Huffington Post and will also include Zainab Al-Suwaij of the American Islamic Congress; Dana Beyer of Gender Rights Maryland; Samy Gálvez of Brigham Young University; Dr. Lynne Gerber from the University of California, Berkeley; Cedric Harmon of Many Voices; and Alex McNeil of More Light Presbyterians. The panel will take place at the Human Rights Campaign Headquarters in Washington, DC on Thursday, July 31, 2014, at 7:00 p.m. |
