The Friends of Ithaca College invite you to the 23rd annual Founder's Day Concert in the Park.
"Basically British"
The Ithaca College Wind Ensemble
Stephen Peterson, Conductor
Sunday, September 14, 2014
2:00 p.m.
DeWitt Park
(corner of Cayuga and Buffalo Streets)
Join the Friends of Ithaca College in DeWitt Park for an energetic program evoking the spirit of the United Kingdom. Whether brassy and bold or melodic and thoughtful, unmistakable favorites like Arthur Sullivan's Pineapple Poll and Leroy Anderson's "Irish Washerwoman" mean a jolly good time for all!
Bring your family and friends (and a few blankets and chairs) to enjoy this fine afternoon of music. Complimentary refreshments will be available.
Please note: Ithaca's annual Porchfest event falls on the same day as the concert, so if you want to experience more live music and mingle with your neighbors, be sure to explore the streets of Fall Creek and Northside. Find more information at porchfest.org.
The Founder's Day Concert in the Park commemorates Ithaca College's founding in 1892 as the Ithaca Conservatory of Music and the rich connection between the college and the Ithaca community ever since.
For more information about the concert, and requests for special needs, please contact Jeanette Rivera-Watts at 274-1431 or griverawatts@ithaca.edu. You can learn more about the Friends of Ithaca College on their website.
