“Living on Your Own Together: Cheaper, Greener and More Fun” is the first in a series of workshops that will give you insider information on making smart choices when it comes to apartment living, on-campus or off-campus. Wednesday, November 5th, 4:30-5:30 in Textor 101.
This interactive workshop is presented by the Office of Energy Management and Sustainability’s Resource and Environmental Management Program (REMP). It will introduce you to the cold, hard realities of chore wheels, shared meals, bath room cleaning and how to have fun doing that cheaply and sustainably. You will also get some tips on understanding utility bills and outsmarting landlords for when you make that first step into the reality of living on your own. There will be people there from New York State Electric and Gas (NYSEG) the local utility company, a local property management company, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Tompkins County and REMP to tell you how to make life in an apartment cheap, green and fun. For SLI Credits go to Orgsync to register Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations should contact Mark Darling at mdarling@ithaca.edu or (607) 274-3008.
