Is your leadership library looking a little barren? If so, then the Student Leadership Institute is here to help! Here are some new and exciting sessions that will be happening next week. Please remember to sign up at least 48 hours in advance. If you can no longer attend a session please click ‘no’ to un-RSVP or email leadership@ithaca.edu in order to open up your spot to another student. Leading Self ellness Wednesdays: Acupuncture for Emotional Health Learn the power of acupuncture and how it can restore balance in emotional and physical health. Also, see a demonstration of acupuncture firsthand! When/Where: Wednesday, September 24 12- 12:50 pm Taughannock Falls Room Leading Others Tipping Point of Leadership Learn about the 3 types of people that can help create a social epidemic from Malcolm Gladwells book The Tipping Point: How Little things can make a big difference. Gladwell uses pop culture to illustrate how different types of leaders can create social movements and how like rules like the Stickiness Factor fill our daily lives. Most importantly, you’ll learn how to manage members in your student organization or future office effectively by playing to their strengths. When/Where: Tuesday, September 23 4-5 pm Taughannock Falls Room Leading in a Diverse World The Angry Eye Film Screening The Diversity Peer Educators bring you the film, “The Angry Eye.” The film on stereotypes focuses on the effects of racial prejudice through a simple exercise using eye color as a dividing line. The film will be followed by a discussion, led by representatives from DPE, focusing on the concepts touched on throughout the film as well as notions participants may have. DPE welcomes all to attend this thought provoking student leadership institute session. When/Where: Thursday, September 25 7-8 pm Taughannock Falls Room
