Letting Go of Mental Toxicity with Meditation on October 15thContributed by Katie Sack on 10/02/14 "Open your eyes, look within. Are you satisfied with the life you're living?" On Wednesday, October 15th, Michael Faber will present a short talk on the benefits of practicing meditation in the workplace, followed by actual practice. We are enmeshed in mental life to the almost complete exclusion of what our senses are truly disclosing. Sooner or later this condition becomes toxic, colors the immediacy of any and every experience, and we end up losing touch with everything but the pictures our own mind generates. This pathological condition can be recognized in meditation and simple correctives can be applied so that over time you may become skillful enough to restore a measure of sanity to everyday life. If you are willing to open your "inner eye" and take a good look at your own turmoil, you can open up the possibility of restoring yourself to living harmoniously and in balance.
