This Sunday, 10/12, at 11:30am members of the Ithaca College Natural Lands and the IC Buddhist Community will be getting together to explore and appreciate the great outdoors by hiking and meditating in the woods on South Hill. This will be a different kind of tree identification walk - one slightly less scientific and slightly more metaphorical, introspective and stationary. After some time walking and talking the group will find a pleasant spot to sit where we will listen to a poem by Herman Hesse and meditate amongst leaves rustling, wind blowing, chipmunks scurrying, trees creeking and birds singing. If you haven't sat in silence in the woods before, this is you're extra push! If clean air, great company and a calm mind entice you, join us Sunday at the Boothroyd entrance to the Natural Lands. For any questions contact Mary McKean at mmckean1@ithaca.edu or Gabe Lefferts at gleffer1@ithaca.edu. |
