Resolving Conflict: Conflict as Opportunity Workshop Sponsored by the Office of Human ResourcesContributed by Michelle Rios-Dominguez on 10/16/14 Our culture is permeated with conflicts of all kinds. In the family, workplace, government, community, schools, and the religions, the experience of conflict surrounds us. Yet we seem to have developed more skill in avoiding it or suppressing it, than in exploring it and working with it. Ancient wisdom from cultures that practiced community dialogue and restorative justice, is gaining recognition and acceptance. This 2-hour workshop re-frames conflict as an opportunity for growth and understanding, not something “bad” to be avoided. Join us for this interactive workshop to explore the topic of inclusive conflict resolution. Facilitated by Jeff Shepardson of Cornell University/Conflict Dispute Resolution Center, Ithaca, NY Learning objectives: Lunch will be provided. This event is open to everyone, managers and supervisorsare particularly encouraged to attend.
