Parnassus ("core apps") users wishing to upgrade to Office 2013 on their college-owned Windows computer may now do so. When Office 2013 was first announced to campus in May 2014, Parnassus core apps users were advised not to upgrade due to potential incompatibility issues.

Please be aware there are some users who should NOT upgrade to Office 2013 yet:

• HomerAdmin and Argus Reporting users
• Windows XP users (XP is not compatible with Office 2013 - please contact the Helpdesk if you would like to inquire about upgrading from XP to Windows 7)

If you are ready to upgrade Office, here are some links to get you started:

• Visit the ITS support site for Office 2013 (includes a link to the installation guide)
• Visit Microsoft’s Getting Started page (scroll to the bottom of the page and click the icons for the applications you are interested in)

At this time, ITS supports the newest versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. The other applications provided with the installer are not currently supported by ITS. Refer to our support site for additional information about these applications.
