ACE is an Ithaca College portal that provides access to Parnassus, Argus, Homer, IC Workflow and Advance. The ACE portal uses an older security protocol called SSL 3.0. Web browsers have begun to block SSL 3.0, which will prevent access to the ACE page for Ithaca College users as follows:

Internet Explorer: Users of Internet Explorer should not be impacted immediately, though Microsoft will begin blocking SSL 3.0 in December.

Firefox: On Tuesday, November 25th Mozilla will release an early version of Firefox 34 which blocks SSL 3.0. It is expected to be at least a few weeks before users are prompted to upgrade to Firefox 34. If you are prompted to upgrade to Firefox 34, you should decline the upgrade at this time.

Chrome: Chrome began blocking SSL 3.0 within the last few days. Note that Chrome is not recommended for use with Ithaca College business systems.

Safari: Apple uses a different method to mitigate the SSL 3.0 security risk, but it is not clear if that method is effective.

ITS is continuing to investigate and is working to find a solution for the ACE page as quickly as possible. In the event that your preferred Web browser is no longer able to access the ACE page, there are alternate links that can be used to access the systems that are normally available through ACE:

Also note that HomerConnect and IC Workflow will continue to be accessible through myHome as usual.

ITS will provide additional updates as they become available. Please contact the Helpdesk if you need assistance accessing any of the systems mentioned.
