Dear NERCOMP Member,

This is a call for recommendations of colleagues you think would be excellent potential candidates for the NERCOMP Board of Trustees. Elected candidates will serve on the NERCOMP Board beginning in 2015 for a three-year term. Board membership is an outstanding opportunity to serve the profession and help lead one of the most vibrant and successful information and library technology organizations in the country. NERCOMP is an associate of EDUCAUSE.

We invite you to help us identify individuals who may be interested in Board service. Please forward your recommendations to the Nominating Committee at nominations@nercomp.org by noon, Friday, January 16, 2015.

Board member duties are spelled out in detail in the NERCOMP Bylaws, but to summarize, the NERCOMP Board is a working board as well as an advisory one: members are expected to attend all Board meetings as well as actively contribute to key activities and committees, for a minimum of an hour or two of work per week, on average. For information about the current Board and standing committees, as well as a link to the NERCOMP Bylaws, please visit http://nercomp.org/index.php?section=board_details_publ.

The NERCOMP Nominating Committee will review the potential candidates recommended by the general membership to be considered for this year’s election slate, contact individuals who have been recommended to confirm their interest in being considered, answer questions about the nature of the work of the Board, collect required documentation, and put forward a slate of candidates that aims at a balance of institutional and individual perspectives, backgrounds, and skill sets.

If you would like to strengthen your involvement in NERCOMP and believe that your contribution can enhance the various programs it offers, please consider recommending yourself to be considered for this year’s NERCOMP Board election slate.

Send your recommendations today to the Nominating Committee at nominations@nercomp.org.

Sincerely,
Colleen Wheeler, Chair, NERCOMP Nominating Committee
Vince Spiars, Vice Chair, NERCOMP Nominating Committee
