LGBT Film Series Continues January 27 with "The Paper Mirror"Contributed by Luca Maurer on 01/21/15 The Out of the Closet and Onto the Screen LGBT themed film series will host a showing of the documentary "The Paper Mirror” on Tuesday, Tuesday, January 27. Free and open to the public, the screening will take place at 7 p.m. in Textor 103. In 2010, Alison Bechdel is in the process of writing "Are You My Mother,” a follow up to 2006’s award-winning "Fun Home." Known for her decades-long comic strip "Dykes to Watch Out For, "Bechdel’s artistry is in a transitional phase, as is world-renowned painter Riva Lehrer’s, as she moves from art focusing on disabilities into other subjects This intimate short documentary captures this pivotal collaboration between two influential artists. Out of the Closet and Onto the Screen is sponsored by the Ithaca College Center for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Education, Outreach, and Services.
