Craig Duncan, Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Philosophy and Religion, will give a talk on Wednesday, February 25th at 7:00 PM in the Longview auditorium.

The topic of the presentation is The Social Contract.  According to the Declaration of independence, governments derive their just powers from “the consent of the governed.” But is that really so?  Despite the popularity of the “social contract” view of government, the view faces some important challenges, which will be critically explored in a dynamic talk and discussion on political philosophy.

Members of the campus community who plan to attend this event should contact Christine Pogorzala, the IC/Longview Coordinator for directions and information on parking (607.274.1051 / pogorzal@ithaca.edu).
