“Yes vs. No: A Modern Love Story,” by James Pfrehm, Assistant Professor of German, was named best overall play in the 2014 Nantucket Short Play Competition and Festival.

Each year, Nantucket Theatrical Productions holds a short play competition and festival, receiving upwards of 100 submissions. Playwrights whose play is selected as the winner receive a monetary award and a production of their play. The theatre’s mission is to help playwrights advance their careers by staging as much original work as they can. Since 1992, they have produced over 200 short plays in two states. Many were world premieres and/or subsequently published.
