Ithaca College

  This week the Ithaca School of Music is presenting a week of Hawaiian music.   Led by Justin Kau'upu, graduate choral conducting student, Victoria Holt-Takamine, kumu hula, and Hawaiian musician, Chadwick Pang, Ford Hall will feel like Hawaii on Saturday evening at 8:15 pm.

Justin Ka’upu,  graduate choral conducting student will conduct a concert of Hawaiian music on Saturday, March 21 at 8:15 pm in Ford Hall.  The concert will feature the Ithaca College Choir, members of the Hawaiian Club from Cornell University, a small instrumental ensemble, hula dancers, Victoria Holt-Takamine, kumu hula, and Chadwick Pang, Hawaiian musician.Being a kumu hula who has gone through the rigorous training process, is a master teacher in hula. The training involves dance technique and choreography as well as knowledge of costuming, plants, and protocol related to hula. The concert is free and open to the public.
This project was made possible by an Academic Challenge Grant .
