Please join the Department of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology for an open house celebration to thank Richard Schissel for his service to Ithaca College. Dick is retiring after 30 years at IC. Faculty, staff, students, and alumni are welcome to attend an informal gathering to be held at Corks and More from 5 PM to 7 PM on Tuesday April 21, 2015. RSVPs are appreciated but not required. Dick’s focus on service has been manifested throughout his career. In addition to serving Ithaca College, he provided outstanding service to the profession for which he was recognized through his election as a Fellow of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association in 1990.

Highlights of his career while at IC include:

• Chair,  Department of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology (1985 – 2000)
• Acting Assistant Dean, Division of Allied Health Professions, School of Health Sciences and Human Performance (1990 – 1993)
• Graduate Chair, Department of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology (2009 – 2014)
• Chair, Steering Committee on Integrative Health Studies (2000 – present)

Prior to joining the faculty at Ithaca College, Dick was a faculty member at University of Arkansas-Fayetteville (1974 – 1985).
