The Department of English is proud to announce that the submission period for the second annual Michael Clark Essay Prize is now officially open.  The committee will recognize one outstanding undergraduate essay in Renaissance literature with a cash prize of $200.

Guidelines for Submission
--Participants must be current IC undergraduates
--Essays may address any aspect of Renaissance literature
--Essays must have been written within the past three semesters (spring and fall 2014; spring 2015)
--One essay per participant
--There is no minimum or maximum page count, but students are encouraged to submit pieces that demonstrate an ability to sustain a thoughtful analytical argument
--Submission packet must contain a short cover letter and two paper copies of the essay you plan to have considered for the prize

Completed submission packets should be delivered to 309 Muller Center no later than Friday, April 17.

Michael Clark (’15) was a dedicated student and a caring, compassionate friend, and he possessed an extraordinary range of creative talents.  This essay prize is offered annually in his memory by the Department of English, as a tribute to his deep and abiding interest in Renaissance English literature.
