The New York Upsilon chapter of Pi Mu Epsilon inducted new student and faculty members on March 25.  Dr. Timothy Johnson, Professor of Music Theory, was the keynote speaker at the Induction Ceremony.

 

 

Dr. Johnson was inducted into the society in 2012 to honor his work on music and mathematics. 

Pi Mu Epsilon is a non-secret honor society whose purpose is the promotion and recognition of scholarly activity in the mathematical sciences among students at the academic institutions that have been chartered as Chapters of the Society. The New York Upsilon Chapter was founded at Ithaca College in 1969.  Membership in the Society is honorary and is conferred as a reward for scholarly achievement in mathematics.
