There will be a fingerprint scanning session in the Department of Education Office in Phillips 194 (next to the Bookstore) on Tuesday, April 21st from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.   Fingerprinting along with criminal background clearance is required for teacher certification in NY State and recommended for students prior to student teaching.  For information and to sign up for a 10 minute appointment, students should stop by the Department of Education.  Be sure to pick up a yellow instruction sheet when you sign up for an appointment since there are two required steps prior to having your prints scanned.  The costs will be $89.75 on-line to NYSED and a $25 special fee for the use of the LiveScan machine.  The instructions describe how these fees are to be paid.  For further information or with any questions contact Bonita Ferguson at 607-274-1488 or bferguson@ithaca.edu.
