On Friday, April 3, IC Women in Communications hosted IC’s first ever Dance-A-Thon in Emerson Suites. Teams of 2-5 people signed up pledging to have at least 2 members out on the dance floor at all times during the three-hour event. In honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, all proceeds from the event were donated to The Advocacy Center, a local resource that has provided support, advocacy and education for survivors of domestic violence since 1977, survivors of child sexual abuse since 1982 and survivors of adult sexual assault since 2003. IC Women in Communications is dedicated to addressing many other issues women face, especially within the context of the communications industry.
