The latest version of Chrome, version 42, is now blocking Java plug-ins, rendering Chrome incompatible for use with Parnassus "core applications," HomerAdmin, Nolij Web advanced functions, and other systems that require a Java Plug.

Note: This information does NOT apply to:

  • Parnassus "self-service" functions such as viewing payslip information and submitting time cards
  • HomerConnect access
  • Nolij Web basic search and viewing of documents

Chrome continues to be a suitable browser for these purposes.

While Chrome has never been an officially-supported browser for use with our enterprise applications such Parnassus core applications and HomerAdmin, some people who prefer the Chrome browser had found it to be functional with those systems. However, Google is now permanently blocking Java plug-ins that are required for use with our enterprise systems.

Google Chrome Incompatibility with IC Enterprise Systems Comment from abarlas on 04/25/15
Seems no two things are compatible with one another in this wonderful IT
system IC has chosen to use. Endless waste of time and energy juggling
things that can't seem to work as a coherent whole.
