Six Ithaca College student leaders participated in the 2015 National Conference for College Women Student Leaders held on May 27-30 in College Park, MD:

  • Emily Campagna ’18, School of Health Sciences and Human Performance
  • Elena Haskins ’18, School of Communications     
  • Felicya Schwarzman ’17, School of Music
  • Yena Seo ’18, School of Communications           
  • Sage VanAmerongen ’18, School of Communications  
  • Caitlin Wormsley ’16, School of Humanities and Sciences

These students had the opportunity to learn about women’s leadership issues from a broad range of speakers, including internationally known activists, politicians, journalists, entrepreneurs, and scientists.

Emily Campagna represented IC at the national Elect Her workshop, a program designed to encourage young women to run for office on campus and in the community.

Michele Lenhart, Director of Student Leadership and Involvement, presented an educational session on the Centered Leadership Model, which is based on the skills, values, and behaviors of successful women leaders in a variety of professions.

Travel to this conference was funded in part by a grant from President Emerita Peggy Ryan Williams, to promote women’s leadership development. The Ithaca College attendees were among 1000 students selected to attend the conference from colleges and universities across the United States and two other countries.
