Bri Alderman and Lisa Searle, from the Office of Admission, and two Secondary School Advisory Board Members presented at the New York State Association for College Admission Counseling Annual Conference at Utica College earlier this month.

Bri and Lisa collaborated with Dave Coates of Kenmore East High School in Tonawanda, NY and Abby Kirchner of Lancaster Country Day School in Lancaster, PA.  Their session topic “The High School Visit: Can We Make it More Effective?” used data gathered from hundreds of school counselors and admission professionals from across the country to analyze the effectiveness of various elements of the high school visit as well as its challenges and opportunities for improvement. They lead a discussion focused on: ways to maximize the potential of recruitment territories; strategies for maintaining, building, and rebuilding mutually beneficial relationships between school and admission counselors; ways to balance competing priorities while best serving students and their families; how technology and student savvy in the college search play a role in the efficacy of a visit.

Very nice, I can't think of anyone better to talk about the campus visit than the two of you.
