Fire alarm system testing in the academic buildingsContributed by Charlie Sherman on 06/30/15 Environmental Health & Safety will be conducting mandatory fire alarm system testing in the academic buildings in July. The Ithaca College Environmental Health & Safety office will be conducting mandatory fire alarm system testing in the academic buildings during the month of July. This test requires us to activate every smoke and/or heat detector located in the building, and will result in either a voice message or a series of “beeps” being heard throughout the building for each detector when activated. While we understand the inconvenience of the distraction, we hope that everyone will be patient and understanding while this required test is conducted. We will make every effort to post an announcement on the entry doors to the building the day before the testing is to take place. Thank you in advance for your cooperation, and should you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact our office at 274-3353. |
