Ithaca College

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Nancy Pringle as Senior Vice President and General Counsel at Ithaca College, effective August 1. This change of title does not represent a change of duties but rather a recognition that those duties have become ever more important to the present and future of the College.

Nancy Pringle began her service at Ithaca College as the College Attorney in 1994 and has served as Vice President and General Counsel since 1996, a span that began in the presidency of James Whalen.   Nancy's portfolio of duties extends beyond that of General Counsel and includes oversight of the Office of Risk Management as well as that of Secretary to the Board of Trustees. Responsibility for oversight of Human Resources was added to Nancy's portfolio in 2013, at a time when HR was tasked with preparing a strategically-oriented fresh look at IC's administrative organization to increase efficiency and effectiveness.

Its initial workforce analysis having been completed, Human Resources is now charged with ensuring the ongoing maintenance of a cost-aware organization that supports our educational mission with distinction while providing increased opportunities for staff development and internal advancement. We anticipate that these responsibilities will be led by a new vice president for human resources who will report to Nancy.
