Diversity and Inclusion Webinar Series: “Higher Education Access and Opportunity in a Shifting Legal Landscape”Contributed by Michelle Rios-Dominguez on 08/06/15 Please join us for this one-hour community learning webinar which focuses on exploring a study that was conducted on how legal challenges to race-conscious admissions are influencing contemporary admissions practices at selective colleges and universities followed by a 30 minute discussion. This is part of a webinar series sponsored by the Office of the Associate Provost Diversity, Inclusion & Engagement and the Office of Human Resources. Refreshments will be provided. Higher Education Access and Opportunity in a Shifting Legal Landscape Date: Tuesday, August 11, 2015, 2 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. Eastern The American Council on Education’s Center for Policy Research and Strategy – in partnership with the Civil Rights Project at UCLA and Center for College & Career Success in Pearson’s Research and Innovation Network, and with support from the National Association for College Admission Counseling, American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers, College Board, and EducationCounsel – has embarked on a groundbreaking study to examine how legal challenges to race-conscious admissions are influencing contemporary admissions practices at selective colleges and universities. The project’s first phase will culminate in the July 21 release of the report, Race, Class, and College Access: Achieving Diversity in a Shifting Legal Landscape, which is informed by a survey study of admissions and enrollment management leaders at four-year nonprofit, non-open-access institutions from around the country.
