All aspiring jazz players are strongly encouraged to audition for instrumental jazz ensembles in the School of Music. Auditions will be held on Monday, August 24th, 2015. Music majors and non-music majors are welcome. The four jazz groups holding auditions simultaneously are:
Each group performs at least one concert per semester and possibly elsewhere on campus and in the community. All Ithaca College students, regardless of major, who play jazz ensemble instruments are encouraged to audition for the jazz ensembles. Non-majors who would like to perform in a jazz group but don't want to go through an audition can contact Bill Tiberio directly about playing in the Campus Jazz Band after auditions are completed. All information, audition music required to prepare and signup links can be found at this page: https://faculty.ithaca.edu/mtitlebaum/JazzEnsAudition/ All auditions will be held on Monday, August 24th. However, the deadline to complete the online sign up is August 19th. NOTES: After you complete the initial informational portion of the sign-up, you will receive a link to the SignupGenius page, where you will sign up for your time slot(s). If you are either a jazz studies major or a non-music major who is ONLY AUDITIONING FOR JAZZ ENSEMBLES, you should go directly to the "Jazz Ensemble" tab to schedule your time. If you are another music major who is auditioning for jazz ensembles in addition to your other requirements, you should sign up for BOTH a slot for your instrument AND A SECOND TIME SLOT FOR A JAZZ ENSEMBLE AUDITION. If you only take a classical audition and do not sign up for a jazz ensemble time slot separately, you will not have auditioned for jazz ensembles. Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations should contact Mike Titlebaum at mtitlebaum@ithaca.edu or (607) 274-1283. We ask that requests for accommodations be made as soon as possible. Swing hard! -Mike |
