Ithaca College employees often enroll in courses that enhance work performance, promote self-improvement, or provide qualifications for higher job classifications. Whatever your circumstances or educational goal, extramural study can be an important step toward a new future. The Office of Extended Studies invites eligible Ithaca College staff and faculty to enroll in courses on an extramural (nondegree) basis in undergraduate and graduate courses this fall.

Extramural students enroll on a course-by-course basis without being formally admitted into a degree program. Registration for extramural students takes place through the Office of Extended Studies during the first week of classes beginning today, through Wednesday, September 2, 2015.

Follow these steps to register...

  1. Complete the Registration Form for Extramural Study.
  2. Collect any required approvals. Approvals may be obtained via email and forwarded to the Office of Extended Studies. If registering for a graduate course, you must obtain approval from the graduate program chairperson. If auditing a class, you will need instructor approval. Approvals are also required for all prerequisite waivers and/or capacity overrides.
  3. Eligible employees should complete the Staff/Faculty Tuition Remission Application prior to the beginning of the semester. Instructions for applying for IC educational benefits are listed on the HR website.

Visit the nondegree study website for complete information including dates, approvals, and forms.

For further information, contact the Office of Extended Studies at oes@ithaca.edu, or stop by our office in Peggy Ryan Williams Center, room G072 (ground floor).
