Pakistani Acting Company in Residence Week of October 26. Class Visits Offered.Contributed by Kathleen Mulligan on 09/05/15 The Theatre Wallay acting company (Islamabad, Pakistan) will be in residence at IC the week of October 26 to rehearse and perform the original theatre piece Dagh Dagh Ujala, based on interviews with survivors of the partition of India and Pakistan in 1947. Dagh Dagh Ujala is the culmination of Kathleen Mulligan's (Theatre Arts) sabbatical project "Voices of Partition". The acting company includes teachers, school principals, human rights activists, and students who have expertise in many areas of study. If you would like to learn more about the individuals in the company and arrange a class visit for Tuesday October 26 or Wednesday October 27, please contact Kathleen Mulligan. Performances of Dagh Dagh Ujala will take place Friday, October 30 at 8pm and Saturday, October 31 at 2pm and 7 pm in the Clark Theatre. Jason Freitag (History) will present a pre-show talk on Partition on Saturday, October 31 at 1pm in the Dillingham lobby.
