Daniel Lezcano Arguella grows organic shade grown coffee on lands immediately adjacent to Amistad International Park, an area that holds 2-1/2 per cent of the world’s biodiversity. Organic bananas provide the shade for his coffee plants, creating a polyculture which supplies the ASPROLA community organization, who then process the coffee and bananas, and make yoghurts and jams and run an ecotourism operation as well.

Daniel will speak about the process of producing organic coffee as contrasted with non-organic coffee, and will provide a taste comparison. Come sample his coffee, along with sustainable snacks provided by SODEXO!  Seminar meets today at 4 pm in CNS 112; all members of the IC community are welcome to attend.

Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations should contact Carol Hansen at chansen@ithaca.edu or (607) 274-1822. We ask that requests for accommodations be made as soon as possible.
