A. Jeff Scott- Diversity in food on campus ü PowerPoint. ü General Manager for dining services. ü What are some themes or opportunities for Sodexo and dining to gain with SGA? ü PRIDE ü Used to connect with his staff. ü Focusing on partnerships, with students/ student groups/ employees/ administrators. ü Partnerships ü Strive high for guest satisfaction. ü Results ü Learn something everyday. ü Innovation ü What things could you add/ change. ü Business development is his passion. ü Development of people and programs happen in tandem. ü Development ü Striving to empower the staff to be successful. ü Through good training and communication, setting up ground rules. ü Empowerment ü The Better Tomorrow Plan in Action ¨ On a good path. ¨ Made some strides. ¨ Things have to go well for people, health and safety. ¨ Sodexo is in 80 countries around the world. ¨ Flavors of the world. ¨ We have to be responsible, the impact we have for providing services. ¨ Put things in to services, is it reusable or not? ¨ Health and nutrition, consumers today are more into that. ¨ The local community. ¨ Great when you could give back and make partnerships. ¨ The Backpack Program. ¨ Great approach to the world and the engagement of the community. ü Their path is to be more transparent. ü Catering events. ü Tray less dining. (reducing food waste) ü Big movement for them to do that. ü Biggest challenge was getting the administrator convinced. ü Interns working with dining services. ü Metrics for each and getting them on the webpage. ü They want feedback. ü What does a mindful plate look like? ¨ One thing they are challenged to do through surveys is to improve the healthiness of the food. ¨ Awareness. ¨ You can go to the mobile website and go to full nutritional information. ¨ Hope is to help people find the healthy choice and consider that. ¨ Achieve a good balance in the end. ü Diversity and Inclusion ¨ So many difference between people, at some point you are thrown into a new organization, and then there are more differences, different titles and status. ¨ Nothing on our path is completely separate from political events/ world affairs. ¨ We all carry a different diversity wheel. ¨ Managers of Sodexo go through a range of diversity classes and training. ü The 2015 Diversityinc ¨ Top 50 Companies ¨ Sodexo has received numerous awards for diversity. ¨ Sodexo is #5 for diversity. ü Dining with Diversity ¨ Kosher ¨ Halal ¨ Allergen Free ¨ My zone ¨ Mindful ¨ Pride of New York ¨ Local ¨ Vegan ¨ Vegetarian ¨ Simple Servings ¨ Hopefully the list grows as the years go on, seeking different types of cuisine. ü Biggest challenges: communicating with the students ¨ Sometimes they plan new events, add new things to the menus. ¨ How they communicate is a challenge. ¨ Reminder: anything you need to know about dining you can get it in the open now section of the website. ¨ Mobile ordering. Launching in January, can do mobile updates to your meal plan. ¨ Can order food, Sub Connect, IC Square, Sandiellas, Circles Market. ¨ Can sit in class, with few minutes to kill, and pre order and pre pay for food. ¨ Speed of service is one of their big challenges. ¨ Can do credit and debit transactions. ¨ On social media. ¨ Great team of students to get things out there. ¨ Any ideas on how to be more relevant drop him a note. ü Food Frenzy: October 1, 2015 Emerson Suites ¨ $3.00 Donation ¨ Fundraising Goal: $5,000 ¨ Unlimited Samples. ¨ clubs will be tabling/ partnering ü Chef coming from Moscow: October 19th and 20th ¨ Chef Liliia Shkileva ¨ Flavors of Russia ¨ She will cook for a few days here. ¨ Will have themed dinners in Terrace Dining hall. ¨ Food sampling in IC Square and Campus Center. ¨ You can buy a cup of soup or an entrée. ¨ Working with National Studies. ¨ Be looking out for this. ü Recognizing Our Employees ¨ Stable work force. ¨ 45th year anniversary with employee Mary. ¨ Relationships that staff makes with the students. ü Student Board of Directors ¨ Student Insights. ¨ Health and Wellness ¨ Environmental Focus ¨ Customer Service ¨ Culinary Innovation. ¨ Use the group as a focus group. ¨ Try to get a diverse group of people. ü ithacadiningservices.com ü (607)-274-1187 ü Questions: ¨ How far away is local? (Charles) v Food Hub. Collection point for local farms, Sodexo buys a lot of product from them. v Nothing concrete, trying to engage in all of it. v Trying to bring more NY Products forward. ¨ Sodexo and Prison industrial complex? (Charlotte) v Sodexo is a large multi-national corporation. v He is focused at the local level, but can get her more resources. ¨ Have students on the committee been only from SGA? v The chair has always been from SGA, but there were other students as well who would come to meetings. v They want more structure and more of a set agenda. v Board is in motion. v Looking for 3-4 additional members.

Voting in New Senators ü Luke: · Commuter Sciences · Class of 2017 · H&S senator. · Had the opportunity to work on different projects · All departments have needs for resources, to allow their students to have the best academic opportunities. ü Discussion: Has sat on APC. Dom: Great to see a commuter science student in the room. ü Voting

ü Dom: v Any Bills? v Lenience: Parking. v Kaitlin L: IC TV in the gyms. v Kyle: LGBT Studies. v Council on Diversity and Inclusion is met. v Council on Diversity and Inclusion will not be a place where concerns can be reported. v Attended IC Alumni Unity event for Alanna Students. v Orientation Ideas. v Going through The Bill of Rights. v Student Bill of Rights is an idea he perceived while going through the student conduct code. v He spent a lot of time thinking about what was on there and looking into it and got together with students on forum on student rights and thought about rights students wanted and had. v Can click the link, and suggest edits, and comment. v Going through bullet points and meeting with people to help fix it. v Go through general ideas and concepts to get everyone familiar with it. v It will always be available for comments. v Anyone on an E-Board of an organization that will want him to come workshop with them about The Student Bill of Rights? v Looking to add new rights. ü Kyle S: v SGA Ball on Friday. v Promote it. v Not an SGA event only. v Should join the Communications Committee. v Ideas for better marketing and promotion. v Instagram/ Snapchat. v We need information from all, using for a presentation at the SGA Ball on Friday. v Meet your senator. v Work on the state of the student, will come out before the first block is over. ü Yena: v Set up for SGA is around 7 for the Ball. v Have to put up decorations, CCS will put things up. v Invite people, it is open to everybody. v The freshmen have responded to it the most. v Semi- formal attire. v Campus affairs committee, everyone is welcome to join. ü Kyle James: v Google Drive, started an initiative out of the realization that everyone is going to be on different committees. v Google Drive Idea: each person will have a folder. v At the bottom of the google drive there are instructions on what to do. v Everyone has access to everyone else’s documents. v If something is confidential, don’t put it on there. v Meeting with provost on Thursday. v Talking about the LGBT Minor and shared governments. v Take care of yourselves for midterms. v Make sure your physical and mental health is in line. ü Evan: v Allocated at the first official appropriations meeting. v Food for thought, IC women in computing, AAA, IC Art for Service, Books thru Bars, Public and Community. v Getting organizations up to speed on the ins and out of the fundraising process. ü Marieme: v Senate orientation this weekend. v Don’t sleep during meetings. v Senate Chair committee. v Coordinating events with other clubs. v Have to be in at least two committees. v Poll on the room.
Open Agenda: ü October 8th, The Blue Skies kick off event v New reimagining of the campus community. v Rethinking everything from how the summer is done to how many credits you should take each semester. v Study abroad opportunities. v Invited 3 alumni to share their experiences. v Invite people! v From 3-5. ü Jeff Scott’s Committee ü Request to use inclusive language.
