Please Note: Correct Email for This Stained Dawn/Voices of Partition Tickets!Contributed by Kathleen Mulligan on 10/05/15 There may have been an incorrect email given in some places for requesting ticket reservations for Dagh Dagh Ujala (This Stained Dawn), the Theatre Wallay production from Pakistan. If you have not received a confirmation email about your request, please send it again to thisstaineddawnusatour@gmail.com Please include name, performance selected, and number of tickets.
Dagh Dagh Ujala (This Stained Dawn) was created out of the “Voices of Partition” project: a five-stage collaboration between Theatre Wallay in Islamabad and theatre artists from Ithaca, NY. Survivors of the 1947 partition of India and Pakistan were interviewed and those interviews were used as the basis for the theatre project. The project is funded by a grant from the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad, the Fulbright Specialist Program, and Ithaca College. The goal of the “Voices of Partition” project is to preserve personal histories for future generations of Pakistanis and educate audiences in the U.S. about a crucial historical event that continues to impact the world today. Performances are Friday October 30 at 8pm and Saturday October 31 2pm and 7pm (note earlier time). You can reserve tickets by emailing thisstaineddawnusatour@gmail.com. Please include name, performance date/time, and number of seats. Tickets are free. We will be collecting donations for “141 Schools”, an organization committed to building one school in the name of each child killed in the Peshawar massacre of December 2014. Please visit our website for information on performances (including Boston and Washington, D.C.) and history of the project.
