On Thursday, October 15 between 6:30-7:00 AM, users will not have the ability to dial 911 or 9911 from campus telephones. Regarding 9911, dialing the extra 9 may be familiar to some users from other business or hotel telephone systems; it works, but is not required at Ithaca College.

To report an emergency from on campus during the 30-minute outage:

Use this number from a campus phone to reach our Public Safety dispatch center.

Use this number from a mobile phone on campus to reach our Public Safety dispatch center. Note that dialing 911 from a mobile phone during the maintenance WILL connect the caller to the Tompkins County 911 dispatch center, but for the fastest response it is preferable to contact the Ithaca College dispatch center at 607-274-3333.

Any campus blue light / emergency phone may also be used to reach Public Safety. 

This outage only impacts 911 and 9911 calling. It does not impact any other calling functions, the voice mail system, or the emergency notification system.
