Chemistry Alumnus Thomas Polson "A Brief Look at Photoresist and the Future"Contributed by Jamie Ellis on 10/11/15 Please join the Chemistry Department in welcoming back Thomas Polson (Chemistry '05) on Tuesday, October 6th in CNS 333 @ 12:05 pm. Thomas Polson will visit the Chemistry Department this Tuesday to discuss his work as an Engineering Specialist at EMD Performance Materials Corporation. "A Brief Look at Photoresist and the Future" Abstract: Photoresist is the building block of microelectronics. It’s a sacrificial mold that shapes the nanoworld in every electronic device. It helped make your phone. We’re going to explore photoresist and the coming challenges it faces. Then, we’ll take a look some of the technology of the future including self-assembling block copolymers and various forms of carbon. Finally, as time allows, we’ll glimpse how industrial application-based research can lead to a paper contesting the predominant model of graphene oxide. Seminar will be on Tuesday, October 6th in CNS 333 @ 12:05 pm. Refreshments will be provided so please bring your own mug to reduce, reuse, and recycle. Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations should contact jpellis@ithaca.edu. Please make requests for accommodations as soon as possible.
