On Tuesday, October 20th, 2015, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Fitness Center, Ithaca College will hold its second "POD" event to vaccinate staff, faculty, and students against the seasonal flu!

Please dress appropriately to be able to receive a shot in the upper arm!!

In order to greatly expedite the POD, all faculty, staff, and students who plan to receive the flu shot at this event are asked to print the Influenza Vaccine Screening and Consent form and Vaccine Information Sheet, found at the following link and bring the completed form to the Fitness Center when you come for your shot: www.ithaca.edu/sacl/healthcenter/docs/FluImmunization.pdf

A POD, or Point of Dispensing, is a location where life saving medications, supplies or equipment can be dispensed or distributed. Should there be a bio-terrorist attack or other disease outbreak, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommends that communities dispense antibiotics and/or other vaccines to all members of the community in a 48-hour time period.  By participating in this POD event, you are helping to test Ithaca College's preparedness to help you in a time of disaster or need.

All supervisors are encouraged to support faculty and staff participation. Following is a schedule based on faculty and staff locations. If possible please come to the Fitness Center during your assigned time.  If the assigned time does not work for your schedule, you may walk through any time between 8 a.m. - 1 p.m.

  • 9:00-9:30 AM - Alumni Hall, PRW Center, Dillingham Center

IC students, who have not yet received a flu shot this year, are welcome to come to this flu clinic any time that is convenient between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m., OR may make an appointment at the Hammond Health Center to receive a shot.

AGAIN, the Influenza Vaccine Screening and Consent form and Vaccine Information Sheet are intended to be completed on the same day that you are receiving the flu shot, so please fill it out in the morning and bring it with you to the POD event.
