#ICVictory: Football, Women's Soccer Home on Community Appreciation DayContributed by John Boccacino on 10/15/15 Ithaca College's football and women's soccer teams are home Saturday as part of Community Appreciation Day. Football hosts Brockport and women's soccer hosts St. John Fisher, with both games starting at 1 p.m. There will be raffles and prize giveaways at both games. Various local groups will be recognized during both games, with Ithaca mayor Svante Myrick scheduled to conduct the on-field coin toss before the football game at Butterfield Stadium. There will be free admission for everyone at the women's soccer game on Carp Wood Field, and youths ages 13 and under will be admitted free to the football game. Group rates for parties of 10 or more are available for the football clash. For more information, contact Icathletics@ithaca.edu. The Ithaca Journal is serving as the primary sponsor of Community Appreciation Day. #ICVictory rally towels will be handed out to the first 50 youths at the women's soccer game, and to the first 100 youths at the football game. So far, the participating groups include the Ithaca Journal, the Downtown Ithaca Alliance, the Greater Ithaca Activities Center, and the Ithaca Youth Bureau. |
