Thu., Oct. 22, 4 p.m., Friends 309 -- A free and open-to-all workshop with award winning film director and screenwriter, Jay Craven, and film composers, Judy Hyman and Jeff Claus. Craven has done seven feature films with actors including Martin Sheen, Kris Kristofferson, Michael J. Fox, Bruce Dern, Jacqueline Bisset, Ernie Hudson, Genevieve Bujold and more. The workshop will include film excerpt screenings, music examples, and discussion about the specifics of joining picture and story with music. Craven also directs the Movies from Marlboro program, at Marlboro College in Vermont, in which 20 professionals collaborate with 30 students from multiple colleges to make narrative feature films for national release. Students from any college may participate. Info available at the workshop.
