Cornell’s Jane Mt Pleasant from the Tuscarora Clan will discuss Iroquois Agriculture at Monday 10/26 ENVS Seminar/Sustainability CaféContributed by Carol Hansen on 10/20/15 Jane Mt Pleasant teaches in Cornell University’s Department of Horticulture and is affiliated with Cornell’s American Indian Program. Her research focuses on Iroquois agricultural knowledge and the productivity of Iroquois cropping systems, and she lectures frequently on their links to contemporary agricultural sustainability – weaving in history, archaeology, paleobotany, and cultural/social anthropology in order to provide a bridge between scholars in the humanities and social sciences. Please join us Mon 10/26 at 4 pm in CNS 112 for the presentation and for sustainable snacks provided by Sodexo! Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations should contact Carol Hansen at chansen@ithaca.edu or (607) 274-1822. We ask that requests for accommodations be made as soon as possible. |
