Dr. Skott Freedman, Assistant Professor in the Department of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, delivered an invited presentation on October 22, 2015, to parents and educators at the Conference on Language and Facilitated Communication for Students with Special Needs.

Dr. Freedman's two-hour workshop, "Language Development: What Happens and When?", introduced caregivers and childhood educators to typical language development. Topics discussed included building vocabulary, expanding the sound system, and mastering stages of literacy. Approximately 80 participants attended the event.
