Microsoft Outlook offers several features that can help minimize unwanted email. Here are some links that describe these features and the options associated with them.

Clutter
Clutter is a relatively new Outlook feature intended to help keep less important messages out of the way by moving them to a separate folder. Learn more about this feature and how to disable it if you don't find it useful.

Junk
Most of us are familiar with junk email, and though it may be unavoidable, there are Outlook settings that can help make junk email more manageable.

Quarantine
Microsoft diverts some email to a special mailbox and then sends you a "Spam Notification" message so that you can review those emails. The quarantine process is typically applied only to messages that are blatant spam and/or potentially malicious in nature, but sometimes legitimate messages can get quarantined. The spam notification message has options for releasing a message to your inbox and/or marking it as not junk. Note that quarantined messages expire and become inaccessible after 2 weeks.
