Addressing Community Action on Racism and Cultural BiasContributed by David Maley on 10/23/15 The Ithaca College administration and the leaders of the three IC governance bodies – Faculty Council, Staff Council and Student Government Association – announce a meeting on Addressing Community Action on Racism and Cultural Bias open to the entire campus community on Tuesday, October 27, at 5 pm in the Glazer Arena of the A&E Center. As the leadership of the college and its constituent bodies, we agree that now is the time for IC to focus its efforts on actions that will lead to a significant advancement in the campus climate for diversity and inclusion. The purpose of this meeting will be to list a set of actions that we are identifying as first steps to be undertaken immediately. We will seek the feedback of those present on our list of actions as well as on additional actions directed at creating a more inclusive community that values diversity in an environment of mutual respect and inclusion. Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations should contact Amanda Lippincott at alippincott@ithaca.edu or (607) 274-1574. We ask that requests for accommodations be made as soon as possible.

Can you tell us a bit more about the format of the event?
Will we work in small groups? Will there be a survey? |

Could this not have been scheduled during one of the two common hours or at night after 8:05, when far fewer undergraduate classes are offered?
I guess that might not have been convenient. Heaven forbid.
