Canadian courts found Jennifer Pan guilty of first-degree and attempted murder last month for her involvement in the home invasion of 2010 that killed her mother and wounded her father. Pan was sentenced to life in prison with no parole for 25 years for first-degree murder and life in prison for attempted murder. The reasons behind Pan's plot against her parents raises awareness to the pressures of society and the high expectations of Asian Americans. In a collaboration with IC Active Minds, we will be discussing Pan's story and the effects of mental health. Join us at 8 pm on Monday, November 2 in Friends 207. Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations should contact IC Asian American Alliance at icasianamericanalliance@gmail.com. We ask that requests for accommodations be made as soon as possible. |
