Two short stories by Italian writer Paola Masino (1908-1989), "The Noble Rooster" and "Fear," co-translated by Marella Feltrin-Morris and Chad Davidson, have been published in the journal Two Lines: World Writing in Translation  (Fall 2015).

A versatile intellectual in twentieth-century Italian literary and artistic circles, Paola Masino was a writer, translator and journalist. In the short stories, originally published in the collection Colloquio di notte (1994), she depicts the brutality of war by blurring the line that separates the real from the surreal.
