The members of the Diversity Awareness Committee (DAC) invite you to attend our monthly meeting, on Tuesday, November 10th from noon to 1:00 p.m., in the Cayuga Lake Meeting Room, and participate in a discussion on Microaggressions, facilitated by one of our committee members, RahK Lash, Assistant Director of Multicultural Affairs.

We study and learn from marginalized groups the extent and effects of oppression but, until recently, spend less time exploring privilege groups and how power is perpetuated. In this DAC meeting, we will briefly explore the framework of intersectional privilege. By completing a diversity awareness profile, attendees will be able to critically think about their own membership in social identity groups, investigate the true degree of their social justice promulgation, and draft a personal plan of action for ways in which they can promote the Platinum-Rule of social justice in their respective environments on our campus.
