Dan Carrión received his BA in Environmental Studies from IC in 2008 and went on to complete a Master’s in Public Health at New York Medical College in 2011. In the fall of 2014 he began a PhD in Climate and Health at Columbia University. His experiences in the workforce have been diverse: working for a Latin American solidarity organization, a county’s solid waste division, a community health center, and most recently Columbia’s College of Physicians & Surgeons directing the Summer Public Health Scholars Program. In his chosen field of Climate & Health he hopes to explore strategies to utilize adaptation and mitigation strategies to simultaneously address health disparities.
